インドの古い言葉（サンスクリット語）のアルファベット。
最初と最後の文字を意味し、阿は口を開いて最初に出す音。
吽は口を閉じて出す最後の音であり、それぞれ宇宙の始まり
と終わりを表す言葉とされたそうな。
「阿吽の呼吸」合わせる相手は常に己なり。
